The Orizaba Express
La Malinche, Popocateptl and Citlateptel
December 4-13 2025
Our sixth expedition to the Mexican volcanoes and this trip is confirmed

Mexico's highest peak.
18,491 feet. This is the third highest peak in North America. (Only Denali and Mt. Logan are higher.) We will be doing a short turn around based out of historic Puebla. Nine days is our window. $1900 usd. Inc. guides and gear, transportation in country, lodging, breakfast daily and meals on the mountain. Support of John Quillen.
We start with a climb of La Malinche. This is a great way to stretch our lungs up to 15k! Next we will walk up part of Popocateptl. Then we take off for Tlachichuca where we spend one night with our local host and get geared up for the next morning where we are driven up to the Piedra Grande
hut with our guides. We have some dinner and arise for a midnight start towards the Jamapa glacier and eventual summit. Then we come all the way back down for an overnight and summit celebration.
